This weekend I finally bought Star Defense by ngmoco. This game had me at the icon, but it is much more than that.
Star Defense is a 3D tower defense game that takes place on a variety of little planets, each with different themes and paths. Tower defense games are always fun, but this one is the best I have found on the App Store.
While playing today I made it though all of the planets on easy mode, each a little different requiring adjusted strategies. The game has a neat “commendations” system – little acknowledgements when you achieve certain things such as “Hit 5 or more enemies with one tower in one shot”. There is also a challenge feature where you can issue and take on challenges from people on Facebook or Twitter.
What I Liked: It was fun! I lost a day of studying to this game so it must be good.
What I Didn’t Like: The Facebook challenges are sent out as Status Updates and not Feed Stories, which is very silly – Facebook is not the same as Twitter!
Other than a few games such as Frenzic, Hexy and Tap Tap Revenge I was never big on playing games on my iPhone. This game has opened my eyes to the possibilities.
